Students embark on a mission for a cleaner campus

January 20, 2024, Vellayani - In an exemplary display of responsibility and community spirit, the students of the National Service Scheme (NSS) at the College of Agriculture, Vellayani, dedicated their day to sprucing up their campus. The cleanliness drive was marked by active participation, with many students joining forces to rid the campus of litter and debris.

The initiative, which began in the early hours of the morning, witnessed the bustling energy of students equipped with cleaning tools, working diligently to ensure every corner of the campus was attended to. This active session was not just about cleaning but also served as a vibrant demonstration of the commitment of students to creating and maintaining a pristine educational environment.

“The enthusiasm and effort put forth by our NSS students have truly transformed the look and feel of our campus," said a faculty member, visibly impressed by the dedication. “Their wholehearted participation is not just inspiring but a powerful statement that underscores the importance of taking ownership of our environment.”

The clean-up drive was comprehensive, targeting common areas, academic blocks, and sports fields alike. Students were seen coordinating with each other to cover all grounds effectively, ensuring that no area was left untouched.

This act of service was more than just a one-day event; it was a testament to the NSS's ethos of 'Not Me, But You,' encouraging students to look beyond their individual benefit and work towards the welfare of society. The event also aimed to instill a long-lasting awareness among the student body about the importance of cleanliness and its impact on the environment.

As the day concluded, the campus stood clean and revitalized, much to the satisfaction of the entire college community. The successful clean-up drive has set a benchmark, illustrating how collective action and student initiative can lead to significant positive changes.

The College of Agriculture, Vellayani now shines as a beacon of inspiration, with its students leading by example in the pursuit of not just academic excellence but also in fostering a sustainable and clean learning space for all.
