Hosting of a successful blood donation camp

In a remarkable act of community service, the NSS unit of the College of Agriculture Vellayani hosted a blood donation camp, uniting hands with the esteemed Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology and Pol Blood, a noble initiative by Kerala Police. The event, held on February 1, 2024, witnessed an overwhelming response with a turnout of nearly 80 enthusiastic participants, including students and faculty members.

This humanitarian drive was marked by a significant contribution of 38 students and 3 staff members who stepped forward to donate blood, showcasing their commitment to aiding those in need. The camp not only served as a platform for voluntary blood donation but also emphasized the importance of community health and wellness.

"We are incredibly proud and elated to be a part of such a life-saving event," said a spokesperson from the College of Agriculture Vellayani. "It’s heartening to see the solidarity and compassion of our students and staff, who have demonstrated the true spirit of service and altruism."

The blood donation camp was meticulously organized, adhering to all safety and health protocols, ensuring a safe and secure environment for the donors. The collected blood is expected to play a crucial role in life-saving procedures and emergency treatments, contributing significantly to the regional blood banks.
